The IRGC issued a statement on Wednesday, stressing that the huge support received from people, officials and its global lovers indicate that the adventurist US administration's move bears no credit.
It added that the IRGC now feels a heavier responsibility to continue its path which is "safeguarding the Islamic Revolution's achievements" and "establishment of national security".
The statement underscored that the IRGC will not hesitate to defend the Revolution and its great causes and will use the strategy of "powerful reciprocation" against the enemy and will give "unforgettable" lessons to them.
The United States on Monday designated the IRGC as a "foreign terrorist organization", marking the first time Washington has formally labelled another country's military a "terrorist group".
Responding to Washington's move, Iran immediately declared the US as "state sponsor of terrorism" and American forces in the region "terrorist groups".
Iran's top security body, the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), in a statement issued on Monday evening declared the United States a “terrorist government”, and blacklisted the "CENTCOM and all its affiliates a terrorist group”.
